The end of the rainy season

In last week,The end of the rainy season came!
I visited Nagoya castle when I went Nagoya.
Nagoya castle has Kinshachi(The Golden Shachi) on the top of castle!
Shachi are imaginary animals that statues are used to protect a building from fire.
Just now,The castle Hommaru appearance is restoring to before World War II.

Rikishi's flags

When I just went Nagoya,Sumo tournament has taken in Nagoya.
The picture is Sumo Rikishi's（Sumo wrestlers）flags.
Today, Sumo Rikishi has been coming from overseas too.
For example,Mongolia,Bulgaria,Estonia etc.
If I had had enough time, I could have enjoyed Sumo match in Nagoya....(T_T)

名勝レポート旧古河庭園１

本日は、残念ながら雨天のため音楽会中止となってしまいました。

そこで、名勝・旧古河庭園レポートをいたします！

庭園を入って、一番の見処は、大正モダンの残る旧古河邸宅です！

昭和に改修されていますが、邸内は鍵穴一つとっても、大正時代の匠たちの技と心意気を実感できます。
さらに、プライベートルームだった部屋を見学すると、住んでいた人が日本人であったことをさらに実感！！

また、喫茶室もあり、お茶とケーキも頂けます（＾－＾）

邸宅と洋風庭園の建築者は、イギリス人のジョサイア・コンドル(1852〜1920)。
亡くなる前年に完成したそうで、最晩年の集大成になるそうです。

戦後は、イギリスの進駐軍に接収され、軍の引き上げ後は、30年間ほど無人に、近所ではお化け屋敷と言われていたそうです。
進駐軍の引き上げ際には、戦利品として邸内のものを持ち出していったそうですが、近年"戻したい"という声もあり、最近では灰皿が帰ってきたそうです！
